Why is it called

Cordyceps?

In the winter, when the weather is cold, the larvas need to find a warm place such as the underground soil layers to stay overwinter. However, in the summer, the larvas are died due to the spores that they ate in the winter have grown as the mushroom by the nutrient taken from their body. Thus, it is called Cordyceps (winter-worm-summer-grass in Chinese).
